Rules and Code of Conduct

If a discussion having to do with abuse makes any questionable information absolutely necessary, please place a warning note at the top of the page. (Eg. "Warning: This post contains information that may not be suitable for minors.")

5. AVATAR: This is the small image on the left of your page that serves as your personal identification icon. You may use any image that does not break the rules; however, you may not use excessively flashing avatars that can cause serious health concerns, even death, in people with epilepsy or other visually sensitive conditions. This goes for any image or video.

SPAMMING:

NOT ALLOWED! This applies to marketing, sales, and mass mailing of urban legends and "hacker" warnings - including links to such areas on the net. This is not permitted in private messages or anywhere on the site, including your profile page and comments.

Setting up a page to advertise your product and services will result in an immediate permanent ban. Plastering your page with click site banners will get you one warning, then a ban.

Creating blogs or discussions to advertise your product and services will result in an immediate permanent ban.

This does not include posting a bit about what you do in your “About Me” section. There is clearly a difference between posting your interests and setting up your entire PACA profile page for the intent of advertising your wares.

Your personal website URL is okay if it goes to your sales site, so long as your site breaks none of the rules of THIS site (ie. no pornography, no mocking of abuse, etc... must be "family friendly".)

INVITES

While we do sincerely appreciate when our members invite all their friends to PACA, we're actually not all that concerned with the numbers. We're more concerned with having members who are serious about child abuse awareness, protection, and advocacy.

Please be aware of the people you invite from your email address book or Ning friends list. We respectfully request that you refrain from inviting anyone on your list with an email like "sexxxy-grannies-4u@bootymail.com". We want to keep the spam-sites off of here, as well as those only interested in driving traffic to their own sites or increasing their number of "friends".

ACCUSATIONS:

PLEASE do NOT post comments accusing anyone of being a child abuser unless that person has been tried and convicted. If you have proof that anyone is abusing a child, please bring it to local law enforcement. I can not stress this point enough.

If you suspect someone of being a predator and don't know what steps to take, please contact one of the Admins directly. Provide all the details you have available. If we don't know the answers, we have professional contacts who will.

Any declarations posted here or elsewhere by the Admins of suspicious behavior have been based upon the written works of those we name, which can include online posts. In the case of online posts, proof of their incriminating words always include screen captures.

THREATS

Threats of any kind are absolutely unacceptable. Any member is strongly encouraged to forward any evidence of threats against them to Law Enforcement.

If any member is threatened within this network, PLEASE also forward the information to us. This is information we need to have in order to keep our members safe.

If another member threatens you via email, please forward the email to LE and to us. If they threaten you in a comment, please get a screen shot and send that to LE and to us. If your computer system is incapable of getting screen shots, send us a link to the incriminating post and we'll look into it.

Any comments that could be taken to incite violence are unacceptable anywhere on this site. As much as we'd all love to dole out the punishments to child abusers (as an example), such things are best left up to the proper legal channels. If you don't feel that the legal channels or laws in your city, state, or country are adequate, we can start a campaign to change them to make them more adequate. But we must always go through the proper legal channels. Inciting violence against people is illegal in most places, and we won't have it here.

CREDIBILITY:

This is not something we take lightly. Anyone who is seen to have posted opinion or commentary that is directly in contrast to the stated purposes of PACA (i.e. pro-pedophilia or pro-abuse of any kind) will be banned from the network. This is the only warning.

ADVICE

This falls under the category of "CREDIBILITY".

While sharing an opinion or ideas about the options open to victims, victims’ loved ones, parents, or others is perfectly acceptable, claiming to have any legally documented authority (law enforcement officer, medical professional..) on the subject without absolute proof is unacceptable.

Two reasons this is not permitted: 1. Liability - if someone takes the advice of a person who has no legal right giving the advice and something negative happens to the recipient of the advice, the person giving the advice can be held accountable as well as this site for permitting unauthorized and in most cases illegal legal or medical advice. 2. Offering advice can create a false sense of security in the recipient of the advice, or anyone reading that may have a similar issue, and result in that person falling prey to unscrupulous individuals on the net seeking vulnerable individuals to scam or in any way harm.

Anyone giving any legal, medical, or psychological advice on PACA under the guise of being a professional will be asked to cease immediately. If they do not, they will be banned and possibly turned over to Ning and Law Enforcement for further investigation.

All members are strongly encouraged to thoroughly research and verify any legal, medical, psychological, even spiritual advice given to them by anyone online anywhere.

We understand spirituality is a precious tool for many in the healing process; however, not everyone subscribes to another’s point of view in this area and one should refrain from offering their form of spiritual advice/guidance to anyone on this site.

Please note that the Ning Terms of Service (ToS) also apply to members of this network.

These rules and guidelines are to keep things civil, on course with child abuse awareness, protection from lawsuits, and keeping with the “family friendly“ theme so that families may learn together. These rules are in everyone's best interest, so please abide by them.
