LONDON, Ont. - Rodney Stafford, the father of slain eight-year-old Victoria Stafford, arrived back in southwestern Ontario Tuesday afternoon after completing a 45-day cycling marathon in honour of his daughter.
Stafford arrived at the London International Airport where his son Daryn and his mother were waiting for him before they made the short drive back home to Woodstock, Ont.
Stafford biked more than 3,400 kilometres from Woodstock to Edmonton to raise awareness about child abduction and about $22,000 for Child Find Ontario, wrapping up his trek last week.
On Sunday, he climbed Whistler Mountain in Jasper, which his little girl once visited, and released a single purple balloon for Tori.
His son, Daryn Stafford, said he couldn't wait to hang out with his father again and was really proud of him.
Rodney Stafford's life was turned upside down in April when his daughter was abducted and killed after leaving her elementary school in Woodstock.
Tori's remains were located by police July 19 in a farm field southeast of Mount Forest, Ont.
Woodstock residents Terri-Lynne McClintic and Michael Rafferty have been charged with kidnapping and first-degree murder in Tori's death.
Rafferty is scheduled to appear in court on Friday while McClintic is set to appear in court Oct. 1.
Their trials are not expected to begin until sometime next year.
