Supreme court refuses to hear appeal on Circuit City snoop case

This is a case where violation of privacy was used to throw out evidence of child porn on a suspect's computer.

Read the story. The Circuit City dude may have stepped over the line, but he did the right thing and called the police. The courts initially threw the evidence out, but an appeals court reversed the finding. The suspect then took it to the Supreme Court, which refused to hear the case, allowing the prosecution to proceed - admitting the evidence from his computer.

There's an awful lot of bad news here, and certainly one could say the SC chickened out here by passing on the opportunity to set a precedent, but hey, it's still a win.

What a sleaze. (And an idiot... I mean, seriously.) Yeah, the SC chickened out for sure, but I'm glad that the state of PS has the good sense not to let him get away with it.
