Senate Bill 5832 is on the Governor's Desk
The Governor signed this bill and it goes into effect on July 26th!! Thank you to everyone who sent emails and helped with this!!
Just wanted to update everyone about Senate Bill 5832 that I had previously brought up here. This bill extends the present statutes of limitation seven years (from age 21 to 28) for selected sex crimes committed against children of various ages in the state of Washington.
The House just passed it by a vote of 97 to 0 with 1 excused. It's now going to the Governor for her to sign it.
I encourage everyone to email Governor Gregoire via her admin at Ellen.Landino@gov.wa.gov to let her know that we want her to sign this bill. This is a big step in helping give victims of child sexual abuse a chance to report their abuse and bring their abusers to justice.

It says in big, bold letters at the top of this post that, "The Governor signed this bill and it goes into effect on July 26th!!" So, yeah, it passed.

This is a campaign against GLSEN due to their "recommended reading list", a list of books detailing graphic and degrading sexual situations between children and adults who's only possible purpose could be to normalize adult/child sex.
