I found one of my abusers

Hi everyone, recently I found a man who is responsible for sexually abusing me numerous times when i was a young teenager. I hate this man and he is a predator to this day. I have opened up a discussion with him and added him as a friend on facebook. I really am lost here and I dont know what to do. I wnt to kill him but thats not right. I need your advice. Be careful about that. If you publicly announce he's an abuser and he has sufficient means he can sue you for defamation. The only defense against defamation is truth, meaning if you have evidence it's not defamation.

If you have sufficient means it might be good to get him into court and at least then have your charges on record. But I think the best thing to do is gather the evidence you have of him abusing people nowadays and give it to police. If you're not comfortable doing this send it to me an I will. If he has a public record of abuse re-publishing it is not actionable, so go nuts but don't get yourself into trouble over this scum.

Did he add you as a Facebook friend? If so check his friends list and see if he has a lot of young teen friends. Send me his name and I'll pass it along to the pedo hunters to see if they can dig anything up.

I guess you could say i'm a bit of a pedo hunter. i spend about 40 - 50 hours a week getting filth removed from the internet. i have alot of contacts in the social networking scene. i am happy to assist in any way i can.

just another point of possible interest, social networking sites share information between each other all the time, i know myspace just kicked out 90,000 sexual predators from their site, and other sites are following suit, it might be worth sending an email to bebo explaining that he is a sexual predator.

MM and thankyou for your replies. Someone told me to forgive him and to even pray for him. As a priest its important to teach forgiveness and to practice it in my own life so as to set an example of love. But I cannot find it within myself to take even my own advice. I do not know if hes had other victims but my gut says he does and im seldom wrong. I dont believe that you can just STOP being a pedophile. Its a lifetime thing, this i believe. To set others onto this man is not an option i wish to explore without more evidence. He has added me as a friend on facebook so im going to see how much i can learn about him before taking any action. I will keep you all updated as I go along. MM OMG! I would leave him alone but the questions would remain...what if hes still molesting kids? What could I do to prevent this from happing again? Could I seriously live with myself , knowing that I could save another youngster? Hmmmmm, sooooo I cannot just "leave" this abuser alone. Paca has helped me through the years and i know what we stand for. I doubt many people will just stand by and let this pedophile continue hurting other children or worse yet.. vulnerable young teenagers.
I am a Wiccan HP and I believe that this is Goddess's will for me. I CAN do something and I WILL do something.. just gotta be patient. Rev Willow

i had a similar decision to make a while ago about rescuing a child from an abusive situation. I spend a long time considering it, i eventually made the decision to help this girl. I gathered all the info i had and reported her abuser to the police, he is now in prison for the rest of his life. looking back i wish I'd made that call a lot sooner. she was being abused by him EVERY DAY, and i let it carry on for months because i couldn't make up my mind. even if you suspect something, make an anonymous tip to the police and let them investigate him.

i don't know a lot about the religion you follow Rev Willow but i am sure if you stopped a child from being hurt that will get you much kudos from the Goddess. (apologies if i just offended your religion)

i can say with confidence it is one of the most healing things i have ever done. I just wish I'd made that that call before she had to endure 90+ more days of abuse.

MM, I totally understand what your saying Matt and the decision has been made concerning this predator. He is being investigated as we speak. We must have evidence to pass on so that these types of monsters can be removed from society. I'm sorry I didn't get in here a lot sooner to lend you my support. But you definitely have made the right decision! People like that never have only one victim, and if he's still alive and still has access to children, chances are he's still abusing children. I'm glad he's now being investigated. Please keep us posted.
